Class Pictures

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
I thought you would like to know what we have been doing in class. Here are some of the pictures from our class where your students are playing basketball. Hope you enjoy.

2nd Assignment: Wordle Vocab

For the 2nd assignment I want you to use Wordle to create a word cloud using the vocab words from chapter 2. Link your wordle to a comment on this post and also include sentences using atleast one vocab word in each sentence. You will be graded on creativity so think outside the box!

Example:

  1. An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
  2. You need 2 cups of fruits everyday.
  3. Carrots help with night vision.
  4. Running is a good way to increase your cardio.
  5. To stay healthy one must exercise daily.

1st Assignment: Get To Know You

In order to make our experiences in this class the best they can be, it is helpful teachers and students to know each other. As your first assignment, find a YouTube video that represents one of your favorite physical activities. Post your video responding to this post as a comment and list 3 of your favorite activities. Since this will help us get to know each other better, here's an example of one of my favorite activities and what the assignment should look like:

Example:

Three of my favorite activities are basketball, baseball, and dodge ball.

Welcome to Physical Education 2011!

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
I want to welcome you and your child into my classroom. My name is Mr. Skillman and I'll be your child's health and fitness teacher for this upcoming school year. I have a degree as a health and fitness educator and I'm looking forward to helping your child understand the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. As a teacher I understand that each child is unique and has different learning styles. To the best of my ability, I will accommodate your child's learning style so he/she can get the most out of class. Majority of our classes will be held in the gym so I expect your child to be ready to be active; students will be assessed on effort not athletic ability. We will be covering many different health and fitness topics throughout the year, be prepared for upcoming letters and posts. This blog will be used as a communication system between student, parent, and teacher. Events and assignments will be posted on here for you and your student to access. Please stay involved in your student's academic life. Questions are always welcome; feel free to leave questions, comments, and suggestions as a comment on posts or you can e-mail me @ richard.skillman08@northwestu.edu . I can't wait to start a new year with you and your student.
Blessings
Mr. Skillman
